VooDoo 5 5500 PCI, ..... beats heck out of the onboard Nvidia GeForce2-MX chip (but then, so would a box of crayons!)

I am running a Radeon 9000 Pro II w/128 meg of DDR onboard and using the D3D drivers. Hi Hoots! I also use the D3D drivers for my GF4 TI4600 video card for Outlaws. How do you like your ATI Radeon 9000 Pro II video card? Are you happy with the image quality and speed? How does Outlaws run with it? Just curious, I've never had a ATI video card before. ;D Cya, ~Mr. Bone88

To be honest with you I really do like my Radeon card. It runs most everything real smooth and it will play all the newer game that use T&L. I tried to install a newer game on another machine that I have that has a Voodoo 3 3500 in it. After I installed the game, I tried to play it and the game said I didn't have a videocard! Hehehe I wonder how I saw that message if I had no videocard. But the game wouldn't run on the 3500. Most of the benchmarks that I have seen have put the Radeon ahead of the GeForce in most of the tests I saw. Of course I might have been at a pro-ATI site and therefore they would print benchmarks that make the Radeon card look best. I did quite a bit of research before I bought this card and most everything pointed to the Radeon card. I bought this one brand new on eBay for $129.00 with shipping and I felt like that was a pretty fair price. The only thing I would change would be that I would have gotten the AllinWonder card which has a TV tuner and remote control. I may get another card and I imagine I will get the AllinWonder next time. There was another card I was interested in, (I cant remember the name at this time) but I didnt choose that one because they said the drivers for it werent as good as they should be. So instead of waiting for the new drivers I went ahead and got the Radeon. It has the ATI chipset, but the board is made by Gigabyte and it is really nice. It has an oversized fan and some heatsinks on all the RAM chips and they are gold-tone and look kinda awesome. I generally get anywhere for like 200 fps on a low, and about 550 fps as a high in Outlaws. It has been a nice card and the overall graphics in all programs is nicer and better than what I was used to seeing with my Voodoo 5 5500. I am not presently overclocking the Radeon card(even though there are some excellent tools to do it with), because i have no idea how high is too high or how fast is too fast so I have left it at default settings for the moment. Default on it is Core Clock 275 & Memory Clock 262. If anyone has some knowledge on how much one could overclock a card like this I would be interested to know. Well that is my videocard, kinda sorry ya asked? hehehe
