Ok, let's see how many people I can make angry. Best tip for Outlaws: Don't take it too seriously. All you Alpha types with Napolean syndrome who want to be THE BEST listen up. Your attitude keeps many of us from enjoying the OL community. Go play HalfLife on a server someplace, so I don't have to hear you grouse about lag and hackers every time you lose. The players I appreciate have but one thing to say after a game, win or lose. gg

Howdy Gojo!
I just now read your comments here after seeing your post over at OutlawDad's board. I have to agree with your comments in every aspect. Big egos and one shot kills are not what Outlaws is all about. It is a game and it is supposed to be FUN! I always have more fun when others are having fun too. Have you seen the movie "Open Range" with Kevin Costner and Robert DuVall? Beside being a great movie, the gunfight scenes are some of the most realistic I have ever seen. Even though this is an old game based on an old engine, I have always felt the gameplay to be fairly realistic. But there is nothing realistic about someone taking you out with a shotgun from a long distance. The only folks hackers are fooling are themselves and they are also cheating themselves from feeling good about accomplishing something and having fun while doing it. I tried Quake III for a bit and the one thing I liked the least about it was the overkill weapons and seemingly unfair gameplay. Long live Pure Outlaws!

LOL Gojo. I snooped around some once and never found the animations. At the time I was probably not trying too hard and was glad I didn't, because the map in question was already a huge file. I'll look some more but I don't think I'm gonna find them.

Here's a tip for new players using James in Multiplayer games: Don't bother using James' pistol unless you have to or just want to. As soon as you respawn hit the 3 key for rifle. To shoot like I do (lol) hold the trigger down and get with the rhythm of its' firing. Keep the trigger held down and try to put the sights on the guy at the moment it fires. Sometimes if you know a guy is gonna come around the corner start firing and get with the rhythm before he comes into view.
The universal tip for new players is: Don't stand still.
For shooting opponents below you like if you are on a roof and they are on the ground: Aim low. If it's the other way around aim high.
