Got a whole new type of map in the works. Actually it's been ready for some time. It's Hack Resistant, but doesn't require a character change in the lobby. I had a volunteer to do an alpha test, but he hasn't gotten around to it yet. Testing would involve loading up various hacks to see if they'd work. I don't think they will, but I know nothing about how to load hacks, and don't want to learn. The first map that uses the technique is just Sanc. I plan to have a from scratch map that uses it. It's about 40% done. Two little towns separated by a ridge. One town has mostly blue PCX and the other Red. Hmm, wonder what I had in mind for that. Since it will already be loaded with the stuff needed for HR, it'll be fairly plain. Just enough custom PCX for the color coordination, not much fancy NWX or anything.

Hi GoJo! Welcome aboard! I wish I knew more about Outlaws maps. All I know how to do is play them! ;D Maybe one day I will try my luck at making a map. I did download Lawmaker once, but never got around to trying it. Cya, ~Mr. Bone88

Bone, Note the line under the bulldog pic. I'm serious. Once you get that first little bit of the tutor map put together with a couple of different PCXs and the roof to work, you are hooked. Thing is, if you ever do give it a try, think about how many of the hundreds of maps out there you've ever played. The rewards are slim. Ya gotta do it for yourself. BTW, like the site. I like getting to know more folk via the BBs, since so few are in the zone when I check in.

Maybe I will give map making a try soon. The only thing is it's gotta really be time consuming, right? I'm so busy as it is with my site and other things. You're right, if I did start tinkering around with Lawmaker I'm sure I would get hooked really fast. ;D I know map making takes a lot of time and work. I always try to give credit to the map makers as well as praise. If it wasn't for the map makers pumping out their maps, Outlaws would have died a long time ago! Thanks for the compliment about my site. I really do appreciate it. ;D I'm glad I added this message board so we can all chat at anytime. I would like the opportunity to get to know the Outlaws players even more. We need to be a strong Outlaws community that will never die. ;D Take care, ~Mr. Bone88

Yep, Gojo said it all. I made my first map as an exercise to see if I could figure out LawMaker ..... just for grins. It's a real kick to create a scene using just your imagination!
Early on .... the best advice I received was from Molycoat, who said "DON"T FORGET TO EAT"! , and as I found out, he wasn't kidding. lol
Anyone out there looking to try their hand at mapmaking, .... first thing to do is work through the tutorial. It has everything you need to know to make a decent map. Second thing to do ..... is go have a good read at Gojo's site. There's a wealth of first-rate info there to make your decent map something special!

I just came back from Pale's site where I downloaded GoJo's X-Sanctuary. Read about it at paleface.net I just wanted to say great job Gojo. I especially like the built-in ML and the fact that I can now get on ALL the roofs. I think this should be the standard "Sanc" to play. But that's just my opinion. Check it out for yerselves. You won't be sorry. Lanky

I have played the new Xsanc map by GoJo and it has played well each time. I am not sure if it stops hackers from using their hacks, but it seems to make them think twice about joining such games. So in this aspect it is something of a success for sure. I dont know if there is a way to stop any type of hacking except for the players themselves. If we dont use the hacks and dont play with people who do use them, then hacking in Outlaws would be dead. I guess I am appealing to a player's sense of honor and I hope we all have that. It is just a game designed to have fun playing. And that is why we all began playing it and I hope we can all remember that and return to the fun game we used to play. Amen
