Some helpful person in the zone pointed me to oldads site the other night concerning xp/lawmaker tests not launching OL. Much to my frustration I have been unable to get a password to that forum after several tries. If it isn't a breach in ettiquette could someone post the answer to that xp problem here. thanks for your time.

This is from Truffle, it's cool and painless, I got it myself even tho I don't have XP. It launches your map for you with a click. Ya know, seems to me that when you want to test you could publish and then run it with the old Outlaws MapManager. That would be pretty quick too. Anyway, from Truffle..... "Unless I'm doing something wrong, I could never figure out how to test my maps that I have been working on while in Windows XP So I created the XP Map Launcher If you do not have XP you do not need this but you may find the tokenize feature useful." 64.246.54.24/files.olhideout.net/apps/xp-maplauncher.zip LOL I see Dog Holliday posted at the same time I did!! Hiya Dog!!! lol

thanks for the quick and simultanious replies to the last glitch.....I did say continues....so now when ever I change screen in OL it freezes....ie try to go to option and then again to it's subdirectories. I already reloaded OL and it's patches with no success in curing this problem. Please note that if I alt+ctrl+delete and cancel the screen will be changed when I get back. who knows what evil lurks in the heart of xp .

Two fast and dirt fixes to try Ten ..... first (and easiest) is to make sure you are running Outlaws in 98 compatibility mode. Right click on your desktop icon, click on properties, click on the compatibility tab, check the box for compatibility with 98/ME. (If you don't use a desktop icon, right click on the OLWIN program in the Outlaws folder, same effect).
If that doesn't help, you might try running (you'll need the XP CD for this) Start>Run> [type]sfc /scannow. This will repair IE (you'll have to reboot when finished). I'm told this often will fix a lot of issues.
Sure hope one or both of these help with your problem. I run OL and Lawmaker on XP at work ..... strictly for (*cough*) comparison.... and with both running in 98 compatibility mode I have no problems.
