I have a question about the flagstart objects in Outlaws maps. My questions are: How many do you put in when you are making a ctf map? Do you have any control over where red flags and blue flags go? Can you control the rotation of the flags so that you dont have a game where the flags end up near each other? I used to put a bunch of flagstarts in a map that had ctf, until I heard that there were games where the flags were too near each other for a good game. After I heard that I normally only put two flagstarts in a game so that I had some control in this area. I look forward to hearing from someone on this topic.

Sounds like you know exactly what I know about it lol.
If Lawmaker wouldn't say "less than 8 FLAGSTAR objects" we wouldn't all wonder about this. I think they set it up so you can put out as many as you want, simply for variety. Yup you'd have to put them in good places. Outlaws will select two of them at random when the game launches.
You just put two out and you never know which is red and which is blue. I think you could put out fifty of them and OL would choose two for the game but there's no knowing which two it will be.
I got used to testing maps in multiplayer so I could test all my characters and also because if you put a startpos (or any object) on a slope, like in Horses3 most likely it's too high or too low. (I know of a map where ya fall so far upon respawning that you lose three hearts - not good) So, I would use Sanchez and blow myself up and respawn until I hit all the startpos's. In your case, you could put several flagstarts in a map, publish and then launch it multiplayer several times to see where the flagstarts are. The bad news is it's tedious, the good news is you can do it alone. But it's gonna be like we said I bet, ya put a dozen out and it picks any two for the game.
A mentally energetic mapper could make a map with a dozen ctf startpos's placed well - where any two would make a good game.
So.... that wasn't any help LOL. You know as much as I do and you answered your own questions already hehe.

bone this is an interesting topic which I have experimented with in the past. Here several years ago I played a few ....hmmm.... guys that had a modified sanc map. It was set up so the blue team always ended up on the awning of the saloon. Although, I found this application somewhat sorry it did have me experimenting in the wee hours. I didn't find the answer sorry. perhaps it was just luck but I doubt it.
